A blocked account is a specific sort of bank account for international students in Germany that allows you to demonstrate that you have enough money to live in Germany for a year while you study.

An international student in Germany is expected to spend a minimum of 861 € per month as of November 1, 2020. As a result, you must have 10,332 € in your bank account before applying for a German student visa.
